At my library, we are using LibraryThing for libraries, and we use Meebo for IM Reference, and the attitudes seem to be very Library 2.0 focused. In the new building where I work, a coffee shop will be added soon, which will change the 'brand' of our library to some extent.
I am not currently in a library but have been thinking about Web 2.0 and what it can do for a library. I think it is important to consider for each library and their patrons. What is needed for a specific group - not just what everyone else is doing.
Good point, JustABook! I think it's good to think: will the technology fill a need or possibly just create another layer (or set of problems) between the library staff and patrons?
I am also not in a library, but google docs (being taught in my classroom and the library at Central High School) has already been so useful. Although their word document isn't perfect, it is a great tool to allow students to collaborate, get familiar with Web 2.0 technology, and work out the kinks with someone there to guide them and troubleshoot with them along the way. Yes, I really do think google docs rock!

We used to have a notebook at the Ref Desk. Each desk staffer had to go to the desk to enter their time slot and activities for the coming week. Now we use Google Calendar to coordinate desk scheduling. Everyone enters the information in Google Calendar no matter where we are. It works out pretty well for everyone so far, though there was some resistance at the very beginning.
